Boise permit culture lives at Planning and Development Services
If you might renovate a Boise house, whether the work needs an application is a city question. Boise’s Planning and Development Services culture is more portal-and-appointment than a small-town walk-up window. This page points at the official path. It does not decide that your project is exempt, and it does not pull a permit for you.
Where Boise publishes the process
Start on the City of Boise Permitting and Licensing page. That department page explains how residents use the city’s system, including account setup and virtual appointments for applications, permits, and plan review. The live system itself is the city’s Permitting and Licensing System.
The city homepage is the parent site if a deep link moves. Read the city’s own pages; this site will not decide that your job is exempt.
Ada County records are a different office. Year-built and recorded documents from the Assessor or Recorder do not replace a Boise building application.
Why this still matters if you later sell as-is
Work that never went through the city can matter to a later buyer, an insurer, or an inspector. That is a reason to ask PDS or a licensed professional — not a reason for this website to declare a violation.
If you are comparing paths, put “permit unknown” on the scope list until the city or a qualified person answers.
What this company will not do
Creative Home Partners is a potential buyer, not a permit expeditor. We will not tell you to skip Boise PDS and we will not promise that a buyer “doesn’t care about permits.”
Return to repair versus sell or the comparison tool.
